Long time no see and rantings about the state of Country Music!

Hey there blog,
I realize that I have sadly neglected you for a month. I am so sorry-been rather melancholy so I really didn't have too much to say.
A couple of weeks ago my mother had me order her some things from Barnes & Noble online. While there I noticed that there was a Kentucky Headhunters CD for just $5.98. So I added it to the order. I only got the chance to listen to it yesterday on a shopping trip into the big burg of Lexington. WELL LET ME TELL YOU--IT KNOCKED MY SOCKS OFF!!!!
BIG BOSS MAN is absolutely the best CD that I have purchased in a LONG time. Evidently the Headhunters went through the catalogue of their record company's songs, picked out their favorites and covered the HELL out of them!!!
They absolutely ROCK it out on 12 offerings, including KILLER versions of "Take These Chains From My Heart", "Big Boss Man", "Honkeytonk Blues", and "I'm Down". AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!!!
I am utterly astonished that this CD was not number 1 on every chart. All I can figure is that they simply don't fit the standard "Nashville Pretty Boy" cookie cutter.
Well, that is OK by me, Keith Urban is simply a recycled Richard Marx. If you notice that Marx is his producer and has written most of his material. I simply can't help but think "talentless pretty boy". And I totally have no explanation for Rascal Flatts. I hate their lead singer with the spikey blond hair-DUDE, you aren't fooling anyone into thinking you are young and thin with that hair! Their sound is generic, packaged and formulaic. They are some record company's country version of a "boy band". Simply not worth the time of day. I you want to really hear the true version of their "hit" "Life Is A Highway" look for something by Tom Cochrane. At least he wrote the song and should be getting paid every time these hacks perform that song.
