I thought about not posting a comment here, but I feel like I have to. Just because you think the Iraq war was a mistake (which I do) does not mean that you don't appreciate the sacrifice that people fighting on the ground have made. I DO appreciate everyone who wears a U.S. uniform.
What I don't appreciate is politicians who abuse their loyalty to our country, sending them into conflicts that protect U.S. "interests" (economic, geopolitical, etc.) rather than U.S. freedom.
And I feel that that was what was done in Iraq. And I am sad that our folks have had to lay their lives down (and continue to do so) because politicians in Washington weren't considerate enough of their sacrifices to be more questioning about why we were going in there and what we were there to accomplish.
As a police officer (technically, until they succeed in forcing me out completely) who is in the same shape and of the same mindset as this man,this one strikes close to home. But I agree with him 100%. And Obama victory would be a massive insult to all of us and a repudiation of every sacrifice made by those who actually went.
