Doctors Appointment Tueday

My mom's doctor's appointment is Tuesday. Please pray that I am able to get her there-that she has the strength and the will(she hates doctors) to go.

Also, a big THANK YOU to everyone who commented about my uncle's suicide.
A lot of people don't talk about suicide, or won't talk about it. I feel that it is my duty in life to tell people and to talk about it. Shine the light of truth, so to speak.
Anyone who has lived through a family member's suicide, I beg of you, talk about it. Let everyone you come into contact know what you are going through. The reason-if you witness to every person and let them know the horror of the aftermath, maybe it will make an impression and stick with that person, so that when they have a dark time, they may think twice before they would pull the trigger.

Yeah that's probably reaching, but I can always hope can't I?

Love and Kisses to you all!
Heather

My sister committed suicide when she was 25 ... it was such a senseless death. She had so much to live for but she was so blinded by the problems in her life that she couldn't see how much she was loved by everyone around her. She was a beautiful woman, inside and out, and I miss her every day.
I'm sorry about your uncle, but I know what you're going through.
[prayers]

I've been out of action, so I missed something.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Uncle. People who commit suicide have a truly distorted view of life and their place in it, I think, and usually have little idea of how badly it will affect those left behind. There was a girl in my class at school whose brother hanged himself and I know how profoundly it affected her.

Good luck with your Mum and the doc, too!

And reach out to those around you; you never know who may need it.

Saying my prayers for you and your mother for her doctor's appointment.

And thank you for that post about your uncle's suicide. That was a brave, brave thing to talk about and you're right, no one says anything about it. And they should.

Thinking of you.

Oh, wow! I'm so out of the loop! I'm so very sorry to hear about your uncle. My best friend in high school shot himself and I miss him, love him, but want to smack the shit out of him for that one selfish act that tore the rest of us apart.

I'm thinking good thoughts for your mom!

How did the appointment go?

So often the aftermath is all that keeps someone from going through with it. :( I hope your Mom's appointment went well.

I just read your post about your uncle and his suicide. He reminds me of Sean Penn in his picture. Suicide has touched our family too. The first time I heard of suicide was when I came home from 2nd grade and my uncle was in my bed and all bandaged up after a failed attempt at trying to shoot himself. It scared me so much. During this past year another family member also attempted suicide. You are so right... the effects on the family are just devastating beyond belief.
