Ok listen up my fellow babies, Toddles woke up this morning with the same craptastic systems that I have been fighting since last Sunday.
For his lunch, he called the Chinese place and told them to fix him something extra extra hot, since he was coming down with something. They did and even gave him an extra side container of the hot peppers. He said he poured those peppers on his entree, and couldn't taste a thing. (gah!) I don't envy him when those things come out-PAINFUL!
So he called his doctor before he left work to see if they could work him in, but they weren't seeing patients today due to an upcoming move of the office. So he boogied on over to the walk-in clinic. They took his temperature and it was 100.1 and they did a nasal swab to see if he had the flu. His temp went up while he was there and they weren't going to let him leave!
The swab was negative, but they gave him a script for Amantadine a flu drug! Do you understand that? I don't. Btw-just so you know-Toddles had a flu shot back in October.
They said he didn't have the flu, but gave him a flu drug. I don't get that. Anyone have any ideas?
My theory is that he may not have the flu that was predicted for this year, but has another strain of it. That is the crap shoot that you take when you get the flu shot-it may or may not keep you from getting the flu.
So maybe tomorrow I can drag myself to the doctor and get some kind of meds to kill this!

maybe the test doesn't test for all flu strains??? who knows! Hope y'all feel better!
I doubt the test does cover all flue strains, because they're constantly mutating, but more to the point, a 'flu drug' will probably just be a generic antiviral. Theoretically, it will work to some extent against any virus, so even if they don't know which virus he has, it's worth a shot.
That's my story, anyway, and I'm sticking to it!
what Jay said.
Hope your housefull gets all healthy!
Agree with Jay. It couldn't hurt and might help.
