Semantics or help I'm raising another Slick Willy Clinton!

OK so yesterday I told you about how the fibromyalgia is giving me grief right now.

Yesterday morning it was raining and I stayed in bed. I just wasn't able to get up.

Around 11:30 Todd called to see how things were going. I told him I felt like I was run over by a truck. Paddy just had to talk to his dad. He gets on the phone and tells him that he hasn't had breakfast. Great moments in parenting!

But you see my mom was up when Paddy got up at 9:00 and he told her he wanted the previous night's left-over pizza. So she heated it in the microwave for him.

So after I was able to drag myself out of bed and talk to mom, I told her I needed to feed him. She said "He must be really hungry today, he wanted pizza this morning so I heated it up for him."

I looked at her with my mouth gaping open and told her what he had told his dad.

When Todd got home I launched into the whole rigmarole with the kid about lying and how Jesus doesn't like it when we lie.

Now here's the best part-Paddy looks at me with all sincerity and says "But mom I didn't have breakfast, I only had a snack." I guess in his mind, leftover pizza isn't breakfast food!

I really had to bite the side of my jaw to keep from busting out laughing! I mean folks, he's not even six years old yet and he already is arguing semantics. Lawdy I dread the teenage years!

My Isaac is the same way...he doesn't call it breakfast if it's not pancakes or waffles or eggs, just a snack. And, if we skip lunch or have a brunch or lupper, he feels he needs to eat right before bed cuz "he hasn't eaten supper"

(which KILLS me when we make a HUGE lupper @ 4!!!)

Aren't they great?

Kids definitely have their own perspective on things!

I stumbled here and when I saw the word 'fibromyalgia' in your post I knew I had to write! I had a tentative 'fibro' dx after years of chronic pain, and have since almost completely cured myself with a few different approaches, none expensive or involving expensive docs. If you would like any or all information about my story, I'd be happy to share with you

I know every woman's story is different, and I have different health issues that you might not, vice versa, but you never know what might help.

Healing to you.

He's either innocent or has an early genius for rationalization.

Palin for president? Seriously? Do you think she could win?

Oh, that's funny! Kids have these notions wedged into their little heads, don't they? It's not breakfast if you eat pizza. Hahaha!

That'll teach you to feel as if you've been run over by truck!

Just kidding. You know I'm in the same boat. My shoulders are both giving me a hard time right now and I'm so fuzzy I can hardly think straight. I hope the flare settles down soon for you.
