Tonight's Dinner
Tonight's dinner--
Braised Beef Brisket
Brisket cooked for about 14 hours in a slow cooker.
Liberally sprinkled with garlic salt, fresh cracked pepper, chopped garlic and Emerils Essence. Then drenched in Black Label Jack Daniel's Old No.7 Whiskey.
After it has cooked about 10 hours add one can of 7-UP and more Jack Daniel's.
Potato Salad
Recently I have been experimenting with how I make potato salad. For years I always made it with peeled white Idaho potato's, mustard, mayo, dill relish, sweet relish, onion, celery salt and black pepper.
Last week I was in the mood for something different and asked hubby to pick up some red potatoes on his way home from work. I scrubbed the potatoes really well, cut them up, and then put them on to cook, leaving the red skins on. Then added the mustard, mayo, onion, dill and sweet relishes, and celery salt.
This week I went even further leaving out the sweet relish, and adding sour cream, and shredded cheddar cheese. Needless to say it was met with wild approval by the family. Maybe next time I will add more sour cream and less mustard.
Yeah we had no green vegetables, sadly we are a meat and potatoes kind bunch!
