About last night

Well last night went well enough. It was fun for us, handing out candy and play-doh to the kiddo's that came by. The most disturbing goblin we saw, was a little girl who couldn't have been more than four or five. I saw her coming across the yard in a cute fairy costume with some kind of strange make-up on her face. As she got closer I realized that the make-up was supposed to be blood coming from her eyes and mouth. My mother and I were sitting there on the porch and as we handed her the candy, my mom says to her "And who are you supposed to be sweetie?" "A dead fairy" came the reply. "Oh how nice," was really all that we could muster at that point.

What is going on in that child's life at four or five years old, that would compel her to dress as not a fairy but a DEAD FAIRY?! God help that poor child. After they left I told mother we would probably be seeing her on an episode of American Justice with Bill Curtis or something on Court TV in a few years. Scary and weird.

Another fun one was a "Paris", with the long blonde hair, net stockings, heels and pink jail costume carrying along her five month old little pumpkin. She seemed a little young to be a mom, so I am hoping to goodness that she borrowed the kid from a friend or relative.

Usually at Halloween we always like to give out something other than candy. The reason being we have been dieters for years and yes, sadly, chocolate is my weakness. Halloween candy is always my favorite because it is always so fresh, the caramel and nougats so smooth and yummy, nothing like regular candy bars you get at other times of the year, which always seem stale and old in comparison.

In order to prevent myself from eating all of the candy, we usually buy Act 2 Microwave Popcorn at Sam's that is in little Halloween bags. This year I didn't make it to Sam's, but a few weeks ago Aldi's advertised party packs of Play-Doh for a pretty cheap price. We always get quite a few trick or treater's so we usually have to buy a big amount of goodies. The one thing that surprised me was when the older kids wanted the Play-Doh too. Mom and I sat on the porch giving out candy and Play-doh.

Hubby took Paddycake to Granny and Papaw's and a couple of family friends. He had such a good time in his Tony Stewart costume. He really thought he was HOT STUFF! He is such a blessing and so much fun.

the kids who came to our house had interesting costumes, too, in a good way. One little girl was wearing a red dress with black net on it, and her face was painted half red and half black. i asked her what she was and she said "a spider witch." LOL
