Home again, home again, bloggity blog!

I woke up yesterday morning and felt WONDERFUL!!
Let me tell you folks, that NEVER happens! I have fibromyalgia and most days wake up more tired than when I went to bed and in a lot of pain.
I was so excited to sleep on that Select Comfort bed! I used the 100 setting, as high as it would go. OH it was HEAVENLY!!!!
Even mom felt pretty good too and that's saying something.
I was all ready to buy one until I googled Select Comfort (looking for their website) and saw a website, where people are complaining that the beds mold, and generally tear up after about two years of use. So I don't know, as good as I felt yesterday morning, I still might buy one even if it did only work for two years. That is how horrible I feel most days and how desperate I am to feel better. Ugh!

Mom had an appointment with the Radiation Oncologist yesterday. It went well and a plan will be formulated for treatment and they will get back to us on this coming Wednesday.

Most of Lexington is still without power. About six years ago, they went through this same thing only I believe they were without power for around two weeks. For the life of me I can not understand why they didn't try to at least bury the power lines, trim the trees, or something to prevent this from happening again.

After that ice storm six years ago, even though our power was only out for about eight hours, the first chance that we had some extra cash, we bought our own generator. Fortunately we have not had to use it, but we have if we need it.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. If you can please send up some prayers for my friend Mish. She started a new treatment for her leukemia, it has adversely affected her liver and she has taken a turn for the worse. She has had such a hard life, loosing both her parents at a young age and battling a drinking problem, before she turned her life around.

A good night's sleep is such a wonderful thing!

So glad you haven't lost electricity.

I shall have to look up Select Comfort! It sounds wonderful... as a fellow fibromyalgia sufferer, I do what I can to get the best sleep I can, because I know how critical that is to how well I function the next day.

The best thing we did was to get two four foot beds, instead of a king size double. The bed frames are butted up against each other, but the important thing for me is that the mattresses are separate and I don't feel every bounce and bump and OH turns over in his sleep.

I'm glad to hear your Mom had a good day, but so sorry to hear about your friend Mish. I hope they can stabilise her.

Seriously, you should try the Tempur-Pedic bed. My friend Jennifer has fibro and she swears by her Tempur and my husband and I love ours. Ty-man has back problems and our bed helps with that.

Glad you survived ice storm 2009!

I hope everything straightens out soon for you. So, still considering the bed?

Just wanted to let ya know we have a select comfort bed for 12 years now and have only one problem with it. We have a hard time sleeping anywhere else like parents or sisters house. No really, we do have one problem that we have not been able to solve and that is the cover has started to wear out and the site does not have one cheep you can buy. Therefore, we got two mattress pads and put one on the bottom and one on top. We even recommended one to my parents and they love theirs just wish they had gone bigger than the full. We have a queen and would buy another.
