Sorry this is so late everyone, but after we got home I passed out sitting up on the couch, and only woke up a few minutes ago.
First, mom's (Penny) PET scan preliminary report showed that the cancer HAD NOT SPREAD, but was still there just not as involved as it had been. Her doctor tried to do a biopsy of the tissue, but since mom is on the blood thinners for her heart, she started bleeding with just a small scrape and had to be cauterized.
However the scan did show that one of her kidney's has stopped functioning. We put in a call to her urologist, but he was in surgery this afternoon and we did not hear back from him. Usually he is very good about calling back, so we should hear back from him soon.
My appointment went ok. Everything about the baby looked good according to the doctor-NO Chairi malformation(where the fluid from the brain has seeped out from the spina bifida hole, and causes the brain herniate into the area where the brain stem should be), also NO hydrocephaly(excess fluid on the brain), NO palate deformations either. My next appointment will be to meet with the neurologists to see what will be done once the baby is born. Now for the no so good news-My doctor told me today that I will have to have the baby at UK hospital! Not my choice but that's where the pediatric neurosurgeons practice so that's where I have to be.
So please just keep us in your prayers-Paedric and I just can't make it without my mom.
