The general suckitude of yesterday

Thanks to everyone who is praying for us.
Yesterday started early because neither mother or I slept AT ALL!
I was up until about 4:30A and had managed to nap until about 8A.
Mother was just up the entire time.
As a result, we were both so fried, but I was going to soldier on and force us to go. Then it hit me, the overwhelming fatigue. I was able to reschedule the appointment for next week. Todd will be off from work to take care of the young'un, and mother and I will drive to the city and get a hotel, so even if we don't sleep, we will at least be only five minutes from the doctors office.
So at around eleven yesterday morning I was able to lay down and take a nap, I was so drained and exhausted. Then around 2:00 Smoochie cat who has been laying behind our big TV, rolled over and fell off of the entertainment center. When he fell he pulled out the cable that connects the TV to the satellite receiver.
So I had to journey to the TV, and curse my way through the tangle of cords that hook up that mess to find the end to plug back in. I have begged my husband to untangle that mess, but instead he keeps adding more equipment and more damn cords. Drives me crazier. It's just a big twisted ball of cords and cables. I don't see how anything is able to work.
Somehow in my quest, I fell. My arms got pinned behind me and I couldn't get them moved so I could push myself up. I am in a panic, because I just know that our giant plasma TV is going to fall on my head killing me. AND did I mention, my arms ended up pinned behind me, making it impossible for me to move. Somehow I managed to get my legs moving and got my feet back under me and was able to get up, without killing my boyfriend, the plasma TV.
So in review-Mom still hasn't been to the doctor!
I fell and I am hella sore, but I didn't kill my boyfriend the plasma.
Just another lovely day in the looney bin.

Call your cable company and say I want my MTV!

Are any of you old enough to remember that ad campaign?
When MTV first started, that was the catchy little jingle they used with various singers singing the catch line.
Remember when MTV used to be good and play actual rock music?
If you do then you will love this site. It's like UTube, but better because it's the video's you remember.
I sat and goofed off for an hour with Paddycake showing him Rod Stewart, Georgia Satellites, and Led Zeppelin videos.
Say what you want about the eighty's we did have some good music. I remember on the weekends when I would be home and cleaning or just hanging around we always left MTV on in the background as long as they were playing good stuff.
So I will be playing around on there for a while in order to calm myself and further my son's music education.
Now for your view pleasure Rod the bod!

And here's the divine Robert Palmer in the quintessential 80's rock video. I was so shocked when he died. He was an awesome performer.

Try not to waste too much time and hope you all have a great weekend!

Hitman-the OUTRAGE

I want to tell you about something that has really got me outraged here lately.
I don't know if you have seen it or not, but I keep seeing these ads for a movie called Hitman.
It really grabs my attention, because playing is a beautiful recording of Verdi's Ave Maria.
This song always gives me such a blessing, so when I heard this commercial I immediately looked up, and guess what I saw? Come on, you know you want to....
Well I will tell you, the most obscenely violent gun play that you could imagine. Some bald dude just blowing people away left and right to the tune of Ave Maria.
I can not tell you how it offends me because there aren't words that strong!

NEW SHOWS WORTH WATCHING

Did you watch ABC's "Pushing Daisies"? Creepy, intriguing and I must say EXCELLENT. In fact it is probably TOO good for regular network TV. It probably won't last long, like every other show that I like.
"Dirty, Sexy Money", is great too. It brings to TV something that I have been missing since "Dallas" and "Dynasty" were cancelled. Somehow it makes me feel better about being middle class, when I can watch really screwed up rich people!;)
And on the vein of screwed up rich people, you have got to watch "Cane" on Tuesday night on CBS. Very "Godfather-ish", in a shallow sort of way. Not in any way as good as "The Godfather", but good for network TV. And might I add, I would watch Jimmy Smits read the phone book. Hector Elizando is one of my favorite actors no matter what he is doing, along with another favorite Ken Howard as a nasty bigoted sugar grower. I really hate that CBS has chosen to put this show up against "Law & Order: SVU" and "Boston Legal" two of my favorite shows.
