Ever since the "spring forward" a few days ago, I have not slept well. This is the first time in my life it has effected me this way.
In years past, I have been extra tired, but this year it has just freaked my poor brain out.
I'm able to get to sleep but I'm waking up about every hour. It's driving me wild. Mother tells me it's the stage of pregnancy that I'm in.
I can't take any good sleep meds but I have been taking Benedryl, and I've even used my Delta Sleep Solution CD too.
I know I have recommended the Delta Sleep Solution CD to some of you because of the great help it gave me sleeping. Well for some reason, it's not working for me right now. I listened to it for over an hour the other night without any success in getting to sleep. Normally, I'm gone in about 15 minutes.
All of this makes for a VERY GROUCHY Lunatic!
All week long I keep telling people just pretend I'm wearing a sign that says "DON'T POKE THE BEAR!"

Is it just me?
Is it just, me or does anyone else think that the balloon boy's parents need a good public whipping?
I'm serious-20 lashes each with a buggy whip. They should also have to pay for all of the rescue efforts that were made on behalf of their son.
What is this world coming to when some a-hole decides to call the media and start this kind of ruckus?
There have been media reports that the father is an "adrenaline junkie", well so what meat head, don't involve your kids in your lunacy!
Ok that's my two cents worth. What do you think their punishment should be?

First Robin of Spring
Yesterday while I was outside feeding the stray cats, I saw the first Robin of spring. I ran back to the screen door and called to Paddycake and told him to come out and see it. We watched him for a few minutes as he dug around in the mushy yard(we had a few days of rain).
So right now it's 22 degrees, I hope little Mr. Robin was able to find a warm place to bed down for the night.

Johnny Cash
Five years ago, I remember waking up with my precious seven week old Paddycake about 6AM. I fixed his bottle and changed his diaper and turned on "Fox and Friends First", where they led off the show, with the news that Johnny Cash had passed.
I love this song. Listen to the words. June wrote this about falling in love with Johnny. Can you imagine, feeling that intense, that you are in a "Ring of Fire?"

“I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” *
Listen, some of y'all misconstrued my last post.
You see I realize that Mr. Damon has a right to free speech. Just as I have one.
But the point that I was trying to make is that I get so tired of pampered celebrities, who have their ego's puffed by their sycophantic entourages and hanger's on, think that every word that falls from their lips is a golden nugget of wisdom.
That all of us peons out here are waiting with baited breath for each little jewel of wisdom that pops into their empty heads.
Arrogance complete and total ARROGANCE!!!
Another thing that bothers me about this whole business of celebrities speaking up about politics is that as actors they are supposed to remain neutral, so that they can immerse themselves in the role that they are playing. That is in every freshman high school drama class text book. I know because I read it in mine.
I can no longer enjoy a movie with Susan Sarandon, Sean Penn, Ben Affleck, and now Matt Damon because all that I can think of when I see them is that I don't agree with their politics. I still can't listen to the Dixie Chicks.
This is a stark contrast to the days when Charlton Heston, Marlon Brando, Shirley McClaine, Gregory Peck and others marched with Dr. King to oppose racial injustice.
Matt Damon made a political statement. Not about a social ill, but a PERSONAL ATTACK on a candidate. His comments were sexist to say the least.
Remember, if you look at my profile it will tell you that I am a stay at home mom and RAGING SMART-A$$!!! So I was being a total smart-ass when I wrote that.

Happy Father's Day!
Growing up I did not have a father. He abandoned me and never looked back. Instead he took up with some chick who had five kids with five different(and absent) dads and raised them for her. He lavished them with his time and attention, and material things; me he molested.
Mother and I never got one thin dime from him in child support; he gave Barbara's kids cars for their sweet sixteen's . Oh yeah, and when all of Barbara's kids were graduated from high school, she threw him out.
I have already told you about my maternal grandfather and how I loved him. He was there for me every day. I loved him so much and still do. I shudder to think what would have happened to me if he had not been there to guide and nurture me.
But this is not about them. This is about my husband Todd. He did not have the best childhood. I won't go into what he had to endure, but it wasn't pretty. Knowing his upbringing, he could have many excuses to fail, rather than reasons to succeed. He is loving and gentle, so different from how he grew up. Most importantly he is there for our son. I am so proud of the strong, loving man he has become.
So to my husband, Happy Father's Day, with love.

Dizziness! and Headache!!
OH DUDES!! DUDES-my inner ear infection is back with a VENGEANCE!! Just blinking my eyes sends the room spinning! FUN TIMES! As my mom says "take a trip without ever leaving the farm!" UGH!!! Hopefully I can drag myself to the weekend clinic tomorrow.
While I am waylaid with this, go to D-Day. org and thank God you were born in a country where freedom is valued so much that another would lay down his life so you can be free. Freedom isn't free and we would all do well to remember that and appreciate that!
Also run ovah heah and wish Miss Alice a Happy Birthday!

Smile Damnit!

You would think that with all of their billions they could at least keep from looking like they sucked on a lemon. Is it so hard to smile when you are richer than God? I mean how hard is it to smile when you don't have a care in the world except spending your money and getting freebie designer goods just for showing up at certain parties and events? It's not like they have to worry about the mortgage, or how they are going to pay for braces or college for their kids, or that they have to put up with an deadbeat ex-husband who won't support their kids.
I don't think I have ever seen a picture of these twits actually smiling.

On my mind....
When I saw the information about the earthquake in China this week, it made me think(yeah I know that's dangerous for the likes of the lunatic-but anyhoo).
I keep seeing the coverage that talks about the affected area being the size of the entire continental United States. I fear that the death toll is going to be staggering.
The news footage on NBC tonight was so poignant, seeing the victims wandering aimlessly along roads where the concrete was bursting up from the earth. Those poor people looked like the walking dead.
What if this earthquake is the catalyst to overthrow the oppressive Communist dictatorship in China?
It is something to think about.

Heaven knows we all need to pop out 18 kids!
OK we just heard on TV that Michelle Duggar is expecting number 18. Now the way she structures her household, is that she makes the older children help the younger children, she calls it the "buddy system". Did any one ever think to ask if the older kids if they wanted to do her job and raise the younger ones? All of her kids still live at home too, the oldest being a 20 year old son, I think there is an 18 year old daughter. Don't these kids get to go to college, or are they being forced to stay at home and help her raise the others?
On the one hand these people feel like they are having all of these kids to honor the Lord, and that's all well and good, more power to them.
But on the other hand I just can't help but think that they are crazy. Could they not honor the Lord, by taking in foster kids and maybe adopting them? I just can't see bringing more people into an already overcrowded, over taxed earth. It would be so much better to take care of kids that are already here, that don't know God. But that is just my opinion!

Tragedy at the Derby
I live in Kentucky. It is my home, my love and every ounce of it, is deeply ingrained in my soul. I love horses and horse racing. Every year I try to make it to the spring and fall meets at Keeneland. The spring meet leads up to the Kentucky Derby held on the first Saturday in May. The pomp, the pageantry, the celebrities, but most importantly the horses. The best of the best three year old horses in the world come to compete for the blanket of red roses and the honor of winning the Kentucky Derby.
This year we were excited because a filly was competing for the first time since 1999. The last time a filly won the derby was Winning Colors in 1988. Eight Belles was this girl's name. She ran so hard today. After crossing the finish, coming in second to Big Brown, her jockey says she started to gallop funny so he was pulling her up when she went down. When the equine ambulance arrived, she had broken both front ankles, one of them a compound fracture. There was nothing that could be done for her, Eight Belles had to be euthanized immediately.
Watching the race coverage, seeing Big Brown take the lead and run away from the crowd. Then seeing Eight Belles laying on the track before the ambulance got to her, I knew something was wrong and it felt like a knife in my heart. My son was sitting with us on the couch and I had to try really hard not to cry, so he wouldn't get upset. There were tears in eyes of grown men today at Churchill Downs. It's a sad day.

Bus Crashes
So there was a school bus crash here in KY yesterday, that resulted in the death of a student.
I mentioned in an earlier blog, that I had survived a bus crash in 1988.
It seems like every time there is a bus crash, someone does a study (usually the government)and they will release the finding that buses should have seat belts. It happened after our crash. It has happened after other crashes.
So could someone please tell me why 20 years later they still don't have seat belts on school buses?
I guess our kids don't matter.

Rob Lowe is being sued by yet another employee.
You would have to PAY ME to NOT sexually harass him-JUST SAYIN!
***OK I know that sexual harassment is no joking matter. My mom was sexually harassed, I know it is serious business to humiliate and degrade women. However, I have been in love with Rob Lowe since I was a pre-teen and I know that women regularly throw themselves at him. It is just a little hard to believe.

It's Spring!
While I was fixing dinner I looked out the window to see the neighbor children playing in their kiddie pool. Swimsuits, water, the whole bit! I know there is global warming, but trust me folks it ain't that warm here, yet! There is still a bit of a nip in the air, even at 80 degrees.
***********
Thanks and ((HUGS)) to those of you who expressed condolences to the Lunatic.
If a funeral can be beautiful Granny's was. It truly was a celebration of her life in the service of the Lord, and a celebration of her going to be with him.
Granny always had a glow about her. One of the pastors who spoke, talked about just that, a glow of being blessed by the Savior always around her. She truly was an amazing woman and we were blessed to know her.

April Is The Cruelest Month
T. S. Eliot told us that 'APRIL is the cruellest month'.
While I didn't know him personally and I am sure that he is speaking of something else, I promise you that there is no statement I could ever agree with more than the above one.
If you look at history, there have been some pretty big losses in April. If you look at my family we have had some pretty rotten April's.
April-1972 My uncle Jr. committed suicide
April-1978 My grandmother dies from breast cancer (really a broken heart from son's suicide)
April-1988 I survive a tragic school bus crash
April-1989 I survive a scary car wreck
April-1992 My Paternal Grandfather dies
(YES-It's all about ME!)
This morning, beloved "Granny Sizemore" dies. Now she wasn't my grandmother, but she was my cousin's grandmother, and since all of my grands were gone, I gladly called her Granny. She had suffered an awful lot in the past few years. She suffered with severe and debilitating arthritis, heart disease and I know she missed her husband terribly since his death.
She was strong and devout Christian and I know she has been restored to health and freedom and reunited with her husband in the arms of the Saviour.
Still it isn't an easy loss to bear, it seems they never are.

Random Lunacy
Hey there friends, I guess you thought I had either died or absconded with a large amount of money and was living the luxe life in Rio. Not!
I have been rather ill with the sinus infection that never completely goes away.
Also, I was introduced to a rather addictive little critter called Webkinz. That crap is not for kiddos!
***
I won't even go into how P.O.'d I am at the FDA. Those idiots made Zyrtec-D an over the counter drug. Now regular Zyrtec, I can understand, but the D means that it is a decongestant. That decongestant being pseudoephedrine. Go to the pharmacy and try to get some pseudoephedrine-JUST TRY!
If you have tried, then you know that it was easier to get with a prescription. It is just so ridiculous to me that it is harder to get an over the counter drug than it is to get one that is prescription. AAAUGGHHH!! I really would like to smack whoever came up with that decision!
***
Last but never least, I am so sad over the passing of Charlton Heston. If you have never seen Ben-Hur, or The Greatest Show on Earth, then you have missed two of the best performances in movie history. Heston was a great man, who was married to the same woman for 64 years, and she was at his side when he passed. He was a great American; he marched with Dr. King and he fought for our Constitutional Right to bear Arms. They don't make men like Charlton Heston anymore, and that's a damn shame.

On this day in music history..
On this day in 1931, Cab Calloway recorded "Minnie the Moocher." It was the first jazz album to sell a million copies.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08wOPt-2PeE
Go watch it on YouTube. I would normally have it here for you but I have totally had a brain meld and can not remember how to add the video to the blog.
So anyway, Cab Calloway was one of the greatest jazz artist's of all time and a true American original. ENJOY!!!
